“Governor Gwen Garcia has decided to pull out, along with the nine contingents from Cebu Province, from the Sinulog Grand Parade and Ritual Showdown on Sunday, January 15, 2023, if it will continue to be held at the new venue at the South Road Properties which is still under construction.”

“Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan and Talisay City Mayor Samsam Gullas have also expressed similar concerns and pulled out their dancing contingents in the Sinulog.”

Gibarugan Ni Gov. Garcia ang iyang desisyon gumikan kay nagtan-aw siya sa kaayuhan sa mga contingents, “SRP is no longer an option.”

“Today I made up my mind when I saw pictures plastered all over social media (of performers in muddied grounds),” Garcia said. “When I saw these pictures, my heart went out especially to our children, ang atong kabataan na nag perform intawn. They do not deserve this.”

Dugang ni Gov. “Wa may init. Unsaon paggahi anang aspalto? Puwerteng uwana. Way kasilongan lain.”

“I will have to make a decision, I will take it upon myself to make the hard decisions in order to protect the constituents of the Province of Cebu because above all, it is the health and safety of our constituents that I must prioritize,” pamahayag ni Garcia.

Gitataw ni Gov. Garcia “I don’t see any miracle happening. In fact, I find it presumptuous of us to be praying for a miracle because we want to insist on the SRP when we have a viable alternative.” (Renante Lada)
