Cagayan de Oro City Hall secured endorsement from the Regional Development Council (RDC-10) for its Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) during the council’s regular meeting last Feb. 6, City Administrator Roy Hilario Raagas confirmed during Monday’s (Feb. 10) flag raising program.
Raagas, who represented Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy during the full council meeting, said the CLUP was endorsed by the RDC’s Land Use Committee whose membership consisted of officials of national government line agencies including the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).
Revision and updating of Cagayan de Oro City’s CLUP covering the period 2022 to 2032 was spearheaded by the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) at the onset of Mayor Klarex’s administration at City Hall in 2022. Raagas said the CLUP will be reviewed for refinements by DHSUD’s central office before it gives its final approval.
Along with this development, Raagas said the 20th City Council will review the city’s proposed zoning ordinance for approval. He said both the CLUP and city zoning ordinance will serve as a comprehensive guide for prospective investors to determine which or what type of businesses in which areas of Cagayan de Oro City will be suited for their investments.
