Caraga’s Top 8 Most Wanted Person Falls In Police Operation

    Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – The intensified law enforcement operation of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 against wanted persons led to the arrest of the number 8 most wanted person in the list of PNP Caraga during a joint operation in Brgy. 18 Obrero, Butuan City today (July 25).

    Police Brigadier General ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR, PRO13 Director, identified the accused as Carlos A. Gaquing a.k.a. “Liling Gaguing”, 61 years old and a resident of Purok 2, Brgy. 18, Obrero, Butuan City. Gaquing was first arrested on June 16, 2020, during a buy-bust operation conducted by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 13 in Brgy. Obrero, Butuan City but was released from custody after posting bail.

    The accused failed to attend the scheduled court hearing which prompted the judge to issue a bench warrant for his arrest. Armed with a warrant of arrest for violation of Sections 5, 11, and 12 Article 2 of Republic Act No. 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 with Criminal Case Numbers 2020-601, 602, and 603, respectively, Gaguing was collared in his residence around 11:00 AM by the operating troops composed of joint elements from Butuan City Police Station 2 and Special Operations Unit 13 of the PNP’s Drug Enforcement Group (DEG).

    The warrant dated September 29, 2020, was issued by Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 33, Hall of Justice, Libertad, Butuan City with no bail bond recommended.

    “There will be no let-up in our campaign against wanted persons, especially those who are involved in illegal drugs. Your police will continue to work hard to protect the people from the threats posed by criminals and illegal drugs,” RD CARAMAT JR stated.

    The arrested person is currently in the custody of PNP-DEG Custodial Facility, Capitol Compound, Butuan City.  (PMaj. Dorothy M. Tumulak)
