Member agencies and local government units comprising the Caraga RTF COVID-19 convene virtually today, Jan. 14, for the task force’s 24th Weekly Meeting, with OCD Caraga regional director and task force chair Liza Mazo presiding.

To be discussed are the seasonal weather outlook for January 2021 by DOST PAGASA; COVID-19 health updates; update on B117, the new COVID-19 variant; Operational Guidelines on the Management of Returning Residents; and other related matters.

Welcoming the attendees of today’s meeting, RTF COVID-19 Chair and OCD Caraga Regional Director Liza Mazo reiterated the pressing matters to be discussed, particularly the spread of the new COVID-19 variant and the implementation of the vaccination program in the region, which will be carried out primarily by the task force. Dir. Mazo also made mention of the decreasing testing capacity of the region and called the attention of DOH Caraga to provide feedback. Despite these issues, she expressed optimism that the task force can fulfill duties effectively. “I’m still optimistic that we can do this together. I hope this will end soon. Let us still be vigilant and proactive in our response,” Director Mazo added. (PIA Caraga)
