Let Us Prepare For Incoming Weather Disturbances, La Niña May End In March

In response to the seasonal weather outlook for the month provided by the PAGASA Butuan City, Dir. Liza Mazo, who presides the 24th Meeting of the RTF COVID-19 cautioned concerned member agencies to prepare for the incoming weather disturbances, in addition to the response needed for the developments on the local COVID-19 situation.

She reiterated the likelihood of landslides and flooding to occur as weather disturbances persist thus the need for heightened preparation.

Ver Lance Galanida, Chief of PAGASA Butuan City, reports the seasonal weather outlook for January 2021 in today’s 24th Meeting of the RTF COVID-19, where weather disturbances and the occurence of Low Pressure Areas (LPAs) is expected for the entire month. Meanwhile, the La Niña status in the region may end in March. Still, he cautions the persistence of weather disturbance in the months succeeding the end of La Niña, for about two months.
