Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – In the intensified campaign against illegal drugs, anti-illegal drugs operatives from Police Regional Office 13 seized Regional Priority Target on Illegal drugs and member of a drug group (Directorate for Intelligence (DI) Listed Criminal Gang) on April 28, 2021 in Agusan del Sur.
Police Brigadier General ROMEO M CARAMAT JR., Regional Director, PRO13 said that around 8:00 in the evening, the personnel of Agusan del Sur-Provincial Intelligence Unit, Philippines Drug Enforcement Agency 13 Agusan del Sur, 1st Agusan del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company and Prosperidad Municipal Police Station conducted buy-bust operation in the residence of a 30-years-old Van Julito O. Taňo in P-2C, Patin-ay, Prosperidad that resulted in his arrest.
Confiscated from Taňo’s possession and control are eight sachets of shabu with estimated weight of 10.625g with Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of ₱ 124,900.00; ₱ 1,000.00 buy-bust money; one sachet of marijuana with estimated weight of 0.5g with DDB value of ₱ 27.00; a Honda Wave motorcycle and ₱ 631.00 cash money in different denomination.
Cases for violation of Sections 5, 11 and 12 Article 2 of RA 9165 also known as “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” is being filed against Taño.
Caraga top cop commended the participation and cooperation of the other law enforcement agencies, stakeholders and community in sustaining the substantial gains against illegal drugs in the region. He also emphasized that there will be no letup in the anti-drug operation even during this pandemic crisis.
