Campaign Against Illegal Fishing At Municipal Seawater Of Manil, Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga Del Norte

Be informed that at about 8:00 PM of November 18, 2020, PNP personnel of Leon B. Postigo Municipal Police Station (MPS) composed of PEMS. Demosthenes G Mandag, PSSg. Renante T. Icamina and PCpl. Jayson Ivan A. Florles together with OMA Fisheries Ricardo J. Mahinay and Junry M. Tabungon, proceeded to the municipal seawater of Manil, Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte purposely to conduct seaborne patrol and monitor all forms of illegal fishing activity.

At about 11:30 PM of November 18, 2020, said joint team successfully apprehended the ivory green fishing boat known as “KOBKOBAN” with markings “kaifa” owned by Hamir S. Hambali, a resident of Brgy. Palandok, Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte operated by Enrique Reyes Camacho alias Pikot, 33 years old, male, married, fisherman, a resident of Palandok, Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte, together with his seven crews namely: Efren Ondoc Suma alias Ian, 18 years old, male, single, fisherman and a resident of Morob, Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte; Villamor Anggana Aglag, alias Bebe, 24 years old, male, married, and a resident of Palandok, Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte; Efren Mandag Anticpo, 22 years old, male, single, fisherman, and a resident of Sta. Maria, Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte; Camlon Andal Ahil alias Calo, 44 years old, male, married, fisherman, and a resident of Palandok, Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte; Jimboy Bayron Makahidhid alias Bingbing, 21 years old, male, single, fisherman and a resident of Palandok, Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte; Arjie Halin Anticpo, 23 years old, male, single, fisherman and a resident of Palandok, Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte; and Rolly Sulampid Timtim alias Tata, 21 years old, male, married, fisherman and a resident of Palandok, Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte

They were caught in the act engaged on illegal fishing for violation of RA 10654, Sec. 86 and Sec. 95 (Unauthorized Fishing and use of Active Gear in municipal seawater).

Subject fishermen were release from the custody of Leon B. Postigo MPS after documentation while Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) preparing for filling of administrative case through regular filling.

All confiscated catch frigate tuna fish seven (7) boxes/case with the estimated value of Five Thousand Six Hundred Pesos (₱ 5,600.00) and their fishing boats with fishing paraphernalia were under the custody of the Office of the Municipal Agriculture (OMA)/ Fisheries Staff and Bantay Dagat.
