BANGKO Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Benjamin E. Diokno formally opened the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) Satellite Office at the New Mint Plant Building, BSP Security Plant Complex in Quezon City last July 27.
Apart from its close proximity to law enforcement and intelligence agencies for easier coordination, the satellite office will accommodate the AMLCâs additional personnel, a statement from the BSP said.
âThis move is a step toward accomplishing the Philippinesâs âInternational Co-operation Review Group Action Planâ items, particularly, on increasing the AMLCâs âhuman resources to ensure that it maintains effective operational analysis capacities and facilitates timely access by law enforcement agencies,ââ the statement added.
âAddressing all action plan items would ultimately result in the countryâs exit from the list of âjurisdictions under increased monitoringâ or the grey list,â the BSP said.
