Bea Alonzo, Lazada’s new regional brand ambassador, has revealed her favorite finds on the e-commerce platform.

“I buy camera stuff, cooking and baking stuff, and even gifts for my mom. I’ve also purchased a lot of lounge wear,” said the actress.

Alonzo said shopping is one of the ways she is coping with the pandemic and the resulting lockdowns, during which her activities as a showbiz personality are curtailed.

Another way for Alonzo to cope with the current situation is to dress up and put on makeup every day.

“We cope in different ways and I’ve realized that getting glammed up, even when I’m not going out, has helped me a lot. I also watch a lot of movies and read books. But my ultimate way of coping is going to my mom’s farm in Zambales,” said Alonzo during the virtual launch of its LazMall 10.10 Big Brands Sale from October 10 to 14 (lzd.co/LazMallBigBrandsSale).

When asked what her first-ever Lazada purchase was, Alonzo said it was a “tent” she uses for changing outfits in during tapings and shoots where no dressing room is available.

“Shop but be smart” is her shopping mantra.

“We are proud to welcome Bea Alonzo as the newest addition to the Lazada family. LazMall is the home of authentic international and local brands, and beyond being a well-loved style icon, Bea’s dedication to her work and genuine personality resonate perfectly with LazMall’s brand promise of authenticity and quality,” said Lazada chief Marketing officer Neil Trinidad.

Alonzo joins LazMall’s first-ever regional brand ambassador Hyun Bin in unveiling exciting 10.10 deals and exclusive offers, including the new 10 percent cashback, 100 percent legit or get 2x money back guarantee, free shipping vouchers, 30-day returns, Lazada Bonus Discount Vouchers where shoppers can get P50 off for every P500 spend, up to 90-percent off on the best authentic brands and special premium offers from LazMall Prestige Flagship Stores, like Jo Malone, NARS, Lanvin, Narciso Rodriguez and more, only on Lazada.

“I am honored to be part of this family and excited to work with Lazada to bring more excitement to consumers in the Philippines,” said Alonzo.

Lazada also remains committed to supporting local brands to digitize their business and scale online.

“We have already onboarded over 2,000 small businesses on our platform since the start of the pandemic, and will continue to make onboarding more MSMEs nationwide a key priority to showcase the inspiring stories of local brands and businesses,” said Trinidad.

He said 2020-2021 has really seen a big growth in e-commerce. There has been a significant change in shopping habits of Filipinos because they now shop more online. And what are they buying? Stuff for home-based hobbies, baking supplies, home gym equipment, gardening supplies and even pet supplies. A new trend Lazada is seeing is shoppers paying their utilities on the app.

Lazada’s goal, said Trinidad, is to further expand its networks in Visayas and Mindanao.
