Thousands of Ilokanos directly felt the impact of government programs as the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN) distributed Php 106,348,800.00 in assistance, prizes, and services during the provinceโ€™s 208th Foundation Anniversary.
The wide-reaching initiative benefited key sectors across the province, ensuring that government support reaches every household.
Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos emphasized the significance of these programs, saying, โ€œIlocos Norte is our home. Together, with love and courage, we will honor our heritage, embrace progress, and encourage every Ilokano to dream bigger, reach higher, and believe in what we can achieve together.โ€
Vice Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc added, โ€œTimes have changed, and the climate may be different, but the fighting spirit of the Ilokano must remain alive. We honor our forefathers with gratitude and recognition, and we carry forward their legacy with hope and compassion for our fellow province-mates.โ€
Among the largest beneficiaries were barangay officials and frontline workers, who received Php 86,428,000.00 in cash assistance for the provinceโ€™s 23 towns. Farmers and livestock raisers received Php 4,535,000.00 in agricultural inputs and Php 3,900,000.00 in livelihood support through veterinary programs.
Micro, small, and medium enterprises were boosted with Php 700,000.00 from the MSME Business Stimulus Package and Php 50,000.00 in prizes for the โ€œAdal ken Sirmatta Business Pitchโ€ competition. Public utility vehicle drivers also benefited through the โ€œCerbisyo, Ayat ken Makatulongโ€ program, receiving Php 3,365,000.00 in assistance.
Community and health programs were highlighted, including Php 2,300,000.00 for disaster prevention equipment, Php 2,093,500.00 for household composting projects, and Php 2,959,300.00 for flu vaccinations for PGIN employees.
These initiatives reflect Governor Araneta-Marcosโ€™ thrust is delivering trusted service and underscore the Provincial Governmentโ€™s commitment to a governance that delivers real results for every Ilokano.
