With no new Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the city for the past five days since March 29 indicating a flat curve does not mean that the fight against the disease has been over and that people can now afford to be complacent.

City Health Officer Dr. Rowena Galpo cautioned that the city may have not seen a new positive case in the last five days, the last being on March 28, but people must not let their guards down but should continue observing COVID-19 control measures to sustain it in the remaining 11 days of the Enhanced Community Quarantine and beyond.

City Epidemiologist Dr. Donnabel Panes also expressed optimism that the contamination had been contained and contacts rounded up at the moment.

The April 2 data shows that there are 13 confirmed cases in the city, where 10 are still admitted in hospitals and 3 already recovered and there are 10 Persons Under Investigation admitted in hospitals and 93 in home isolation.

Yesterday doctors and staff members led by Medical Director Ricardo Ruñez Jr of Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center send off a patient who recovered from COVID-19 after completing the treatment. The patient, an OFW in Italy is the city’s third patient to have healed from the ailment

The number of Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs), spiked to 876 and they are under 14 day home quarantine and 5 PUI/PUM in an isolation facility.

About 205 PUIs were cleared from the dreaded virus after the result of their testing for COVID-19 turned negative.
