BAGUIO CITY: 61 KILOS DRIED MARIJUANA LEAVES WORTH P7.3M CONFISCATED, SUSPECTS EVADE ARREST

TABUK CITY, KALINGA- Approximately sixty-one (61) kilograms of dried marijuana leaves worth P7,380,000.00 were recovered while two drug suspects evaded arrest during a drug bust at Barangay Agbannawag, Tabuk City, Kalinga on the night of October 3, 2025. Fifty-nine (59) bricks of dried marijuana leaves, five (5) vacuum-sealed plastic bags of dried marijuana fruiting tops, and a motorcycle used by the suspects to deliver the illegal drugs before evading the operatives, were all confiscated by elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Cordillera (PDEA-CAR), Mountain Province Provincial Office (lead unit of the operation) together with Apayao, Kalinga Provincial Offices and Tabuk City, Kalinga local police.

 

PDEA-CAR Regional Director Derrick Arnold C. Carreon stated that one of the suspects was recognized as a man from Barangay Agbannawag, Tabuk City, while the identity of the other suspect is unknown. However, an investigation and follow up operation is underway to locate the suspects. The suspects will face charges for violation of Section 5, Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 even if they remain at large.
