A new batch of Communist Terrorist Group supporters has withdrawn their support from the communist group and returned to the fold of the law in Tadian, Mountain Province.

The 41 members of Kasigudan Aywanan Takderan Binangun di Kabunian Organization (KATABIKO) officially pledged their allegiance to the government in a simple ceremony on January 30 in barangay Bunga

Police and military officials facilitated the ceremony with the support of local officials.

The withdrawal of support from CTG was made possible through the relentless efforts and continuous negotiations by joint elements of Police Cordillera and the Philippine Army.

COL Angel I Madarang, INF, the Deputy Brigade Commander of 702nd Brigade of the Philippine Army, has solicited the 41 members’ support to end the 53 years of insurgency to attain a longtime dream of a safer and better country to live in.

PCOL Ruben B Andiso, Provincial Director of Mountain Province Police Office advised the 41 members to be cautious and selective in joining an organization to further avoid being confronted by CTGs.

Mr. Felizberto Matute, the Provincial Director of TESDA offered free scholarships to be availed by the members who are interested in enrolling in different courses provided by the agency. By Joe M. (with report from Mt. Province PPO PIO)
