Bacolod: WV cops seize P17M shabu in first 15 days of the year

    The Police Regional Office 6 reported that its anti-illegal drugs campaign from January 1 to 15, led to the arrest of 196 drug suspects and the recovery of P17.8 million worth of illegal drugs.

    The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office logged the highest number of arrested drug suspects at 86, equivalent to 43.87 percent of the neutralized drug personalities in the region for the period.

    NOCPPO also seized P2.5 million worth of suspected shabu.

    On the other hand, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office had the biggest combined drug haul of P5.8 million, followed by the Iloilo City Police Office at P5.4 million, and the Bacolod City Police Office trailing behind them with P3.1 million confiscated drugs.

    In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky lauded all unit commanders and their Drug Enforcement Units/Teams for the intensified campaign to prevent the proliferation of illegal drugs, which led to the conduct of 157 law enforcement operations.

    “This feat was achieved because of our collective efforts. Thus, our partnership with our stakeholders will be continuously strengthened to put an end to this illegal drug problem,” Wanky added. (Gilbert Bayoran via tvds)
