Bacolod City – As the dry spell continues to affect water supply in Bacolod City, Mayor Greg Gasataya has launched a dedicated hotline for consumers to report water supply-related concerns and help authorities monitor supply conditions, a press release from the Bacolod City Communications Office said.
The hotline was established recently following a coordination meeting with key city departments and representatives from Baciwa-PrimeWater, at the Bacolod City Government Center.
Residents may contact the city’s water concern hotline at 09300478289. Concerns regarding low to no water supply reported through the hotline will be forwarded to the utility firm for immediate action.
Earlier, the mayor directed the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) to deploy around 15 water tanks, each with a capacity of 2,000 liters, in preparation for possible water rationing in areas experiencing low to no water supply.
Following a previous coordination meeting, the water utility firm implemented measures that increased its current production by 4 MLD. The firm also plans to boost output by an additional 3 to 4 MLD this week, with the goal of surpassing 90 MLD and reducing water shortages.
Data from Baciwa-PrimeWater showed that water production has reached 89 million liters per day (MLD) as of April 21. Officials emphasized the need to further increase actual water production and prioritize areas with no supply, including Barangays Tangub and Cabug.
They also assured the city government that 16 additional storage tanks have been reserved for installation in areas requiring augmentation. (news/photo bcpio/bpw pr via tvds)
