Bacolod: ‘Vote-rich’ Negros Occidental has 2.6M voters

Bacolod City – Negros Occidental is heading towards among the vote-rich provinces of the country, with 2,688,523 voters for the upcoming synchronized Barangay and Sanggunian Kabataan Elections in October.

Composed of 19 municipalities and 13 cities, there are 2,025,078 regular voters and 663,445 SK voters in Negros Occidental.

Based on the consolidated quarterly report from the Election Registration Board (ERB) hearing on March 6, records of the Commission on Elections showed highly urbanized Bacolod City has 341,344 regular voters in 908 clustered precincts in 61 barangays.

Kabankalan City trails Bacolod City with 109,103, Bago City – 104,885, Cadiz City – 99,165 and Silay City – 91,6478, the top five local government units in terms of the highest number of regular voters.

Data also showed that Negros Occidental has 5,704 clustered precincts spread across 662 barangays.
