Bacolod Election Officer Revo Sorbito said polling centers in Bacolod City have assigned medical personnel to check the body temperature of voters and those who show signs of COVID-19 like fever or flu-like symptoms will be brought to an isolation room allocated for them in the polling place.

Bacolod City has a total of 45 public schools designated as voting centers with 450 clustered precincts.

Sorbito said they will strictly enforce minimum health protocols like the wearing of face mask and social distancing to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Those who are not feeling well or display symptoms of COVID-19 are advised to remain at home and to refrain from going to the polling centers.

Meanwhile, Sorbito said they have delisted more than 2,000 names from its voters’ list for reasons of death, double registration, transfer of registration, and for failure to vote in two consecutive elections.

The Comelec will conduct final testing and sealing of vote counting machines (VCMs) in various polling centers in Bacolod City on May 7. (Chrysee Semillano The Visayan Daily Star, photo courtesy of dnx)
