Bacolod City – Negros Occidental still has sufficient supply of pork, according to a report of the Provincial Veterinary Office, that added that there has been no price increases.
Veterinarians of various local government units, focal persons on livestock, livestock and poultry inspectors and technicians, met on October 12 at the PVO Office in Bacolod City, to analyze the current challenges and opportunities for the trade of livestock, and to strategize to ensure a consistent and reliable supply of livestock in the province, according to a statement issued by the provincial government Public Information Office.
The Swine Industry Recovery Plan of Negros Occidental was also discussed at the meeting.
Under the Swine Industry Recovery Plan of Negros Occidental, Dr. Yasmin Francesca Tan discussed the Guidelines for Restocking, including the Procedures for Zone Progression and Local Declaration of ASF-Free Status, based on the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI).
Atty. Joselito Jaballa discussed the Livestock Repopulation Plan which includes strategic direction, breeding scheme, strategies, and herd build-up.
