In his order, Leonardia said that during the May 9 national and local elections, a large number of campaign materials were placed along streets and thoroughfares not to mention the walls of private establishments or residences.

“With the election day now over, these campaign materials should be cleared for our city to return to its normal state,” he said.

The PECUC is composed by Leonardia as chairperson, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran as co-chairperson, and City Administrator Edward Joseph Cuansing as action officer.

The PECUC is composed of acting Secretary to the Mayor Ma. Victoria Parreñas, City Engineer Aladino Agbones, General Services Office head Gilda Lluisma, Department of Public Services OIC Ramil Palalon, Reuben Mikhail Sabig of the City Legal Office and representative from the Public Information Office.

The PECUC is directed to coordinate with the respective presidents of the Liga ng Barangay and the Sangguniang Kabataan for assistance in the conduct of the clean-up in various barangays.

The committee is also directed to coordinate with the garbage contractor IPM-CDC for assistance in the collection of the removed materials; and to properly inform private property owners or their representatives if the campaign materials are found on the walls of their properties.

Familiaran said he personally ordered his team to start removing campaign materials as early as Wednesday.

The purpose of the mayor in launching a clean-up drive in Bacolod City is to clear the city of campaign materials or posters along the roads and surroundings. This includes the removal of illegal postering by those who have not secured permits from the local government, he added.
