Bacolod City -The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod is requesting Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez to enjoin all barangay captains in Bacolod City to designate a barangay sanitary inspector (BSI) tasked on raising health and sanitation standards in their areas of jurisdiction.
The resolution authored by Councilor Claudio Puentevella said the BSIs are tasked to work on raising health and sanitation standards in their respective barangays in preventing food and water-borne diseases.
Barangay sanitary inspectors have a vital role in the prevention and control of diseases in the community as sanitarians primarily initiate the proper implementation of environmental sanitation making their roles with regard to the health of the community indispensable in preventing food and water borne diseases, it added.
