Bacolod City – Western Visayas police director Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo enjoined the public to immediately report any police officer in Region 6 engaged in partisan politics.
The stern warning was made by Dongbo as he reiterated his reminders for all personnel to remain apolitical and non-partisan during May 9 elections.
Dongbo stressed that the task of police personnel is to ensure a safe, secure, orderly and peaceful conduct of the elections.
No one will engage directly or indirectly in any political activities and should not endorse any candidates or political party, he said.
Dongbo warned that personnel who will be found violating his instructions will be dealt with accordingly.
“As government employees in-charge of maintaining peace and ensuring security during this election, we are expected to be neutral and non-partisan as mandated by the law,” he pointed out.
Meanwhile, the Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade and Philippine National Police have assured Negrenses of peaceful, safe and fair elections on May 9 in Negros Occidental.
Col. Michael Samson, deputy commander of the 303rd Infantry Brigade, disclosed that the “Philippine Army and other security forces, with the support of Commission on Election assures the entire populace of Negros that the election would be safe accurate and fair, and that all Negrenses can freely choice their candidates, and that results are expected.”
Recently, the Joint Peace and Security Coordination Center (JPSCC) composed of the Comelec, 303rd Infantry Brigade, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Bacolod City Police Office, Philippine Coast Guard and other units of security sector, had a meeting in Bacolod City, facilitated by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.
Provincial Comelec supervisor Atty. Roberto Salazar discussed the preparations being made by the Comelec for the May 9 elections to further strengthen coordination among agencies to prevent any possible election-related incidents.
