Bacolod: PDEA-NIR seizes PHP 428,400 in suspected shabu

    BACOLOD CITY — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Island Region arrested a 50-year-old man in a drug bust that yielded PHP 428,400 worth of suspected shabu in Purok Old Barrio, Barangay Sta. Rosa, Murcia, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday.

    The suspect was identified only as “Nonong,” a resident of Barangay 2 here who was tagged as a high-value target and an alleged notorious drug pusher.

    Confiscated during the operation were 15 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 63 grams, marked money, a cellphone, a red Suzuki Multicab, and PHP 12,000 in cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug activities.

    Investigation Agent 1 Keith Capili, PDEA-NIR spokesperson, said the suspect was arrested for a drug offense for the first time following reports of his alleged illegal drug activity.

    Authorities are investigating the suspect’s background to determine his source of illegal drugs.
