Mapa said the excavation for the foundation of new PAC, with a budget of almost ₱ 900 million, is currently ongoing.

The delay in the construction of the 7-storey PAC, particularly in laying down the foundation, was attributed to the weather.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson earlier gave the green light for the contractor, Dynamic Builders, to proceed with the construction of PAC at its original site, after its proposed transfer to a Capitol property in Talisay City did not push through.

The contractor was already paid the usual 15 percent advance payment for its mobilization fund. (Gilbert Bayoran via The Visayan Daily Star (TVDS), photo courtesy of TVDS)
