Bacolod City – The Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) announced over-the-weekend the resumption of the six-day plebiscite in connection with the Joint Venture Agreement between the electric cooperative and Primelectric Holdings Incorporated.

This was after the National Electrification Administration approved its resumption after it was temporarily suspended due to the validation of the master list of Ceneco member consumers.

In an advisory issued by Ceneco, its acting general manager Atty. Arnel Lapore said that the plebiscite has been set on August 19, 20, 26 and 27, as well as  September 2 and 3.

The qualified member-consumers allowed to vote in the plebiscite were reduced to 177,000, from an earlier list of 192,000, as most of the names removed from the master list were either double entries or those who have died.

He said all information on the JVA, master list, and voting centers are available on the Ceneco website, official Facebook page, and barangay centers.

“It will be the member-consumers who will make the decision during the plebiscite. We are encouraging everyone who are qualified to vote to go out and participate,” Lapore said. (Gilbert Bayoran via The Visayan Daily Star (TVDS), photo courtesy of TVDS)
