Bacolod City – Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson stressed the need for police visibility in all 31 towns and cities of Negros Occidental, in order to create trust and connection between law enforcers and the people.

PCol. Leo Pamittan, provincial police director of Negros Occidental, recently led the 31 police chiefs, mobile force commanders and NOCPPO staff officers, in paying a traditional New Year’s call to Gov. Lacson at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City.

Lacson reiterated the provincial government’s full support to NOCPPO in rising to the challenge of the drug problem and improving the state of the province’s peace and order.

“On our part, aside from fighting drugs through our drug clearing programs, we also need to promote effective communication and awareness to establish in the minds of our people the horrors and the evils of illegal drugs,” the governor said.

Lacson also thanked NOCPPO personnel and staff for their noble and courageous service, bravery, and commitment to duty.

“I am positive that working together, we can realize and achieve a more progressive and peaceful Negros Occidental,” he stressed. (Gilbert Bayoran via The Visayan Daily Star (TVDS), photo courtesy of TVDS)
