Bacolod: Ferrer designated acting governor

Bacolod City – Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer will serve as the acting governor of Negros Occidental from December 23 to January 3, 2023, or until the return of Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, who will be on official travel.

This was contained in an Executive Order number 22 65, Series of 2022, issued by the governor.

Lacson said the designation of Vice Gov. Ferrer as acting governor aims to ensure continuous and effective delivery of basic and social services.

Under Section 46a of the Local Government Code of 1991, the Vice Governor shall automatically exercise the powers and perform the duties and functions of the Governor, except the power to appoint, suspend or dismiss employees, during the period of the approved travel abroad.
