Bacolod City – In support to the plans of the provincial government to subject employees to random drug testing, the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE) is taking the lead, as its officers and staff submitted themselves to voluntary drug testing, its president Ruben Diamante announced yesterday.
As officers of PACE, Diamante said they want to “set as an example.”
This was after Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz admitted receiving reports that some provincial government employees not only use illegal substances, but are even peddling illegal drugs at Capitol establishments.
During the regular meeting on August 5, Diamante disclosed that they approved a resolution submitting themselves to voluntary drug testing, to support a “drug free workplace” with the date and venue yet to be determined.
“PACE advocates for a drug free work force. We are also supporting the plan of the provincial government to subject all employees and officials to a drug test. If you’re not guilty why fear,” he stressed. (Gilbert Bayoran via The Visayan Daily Star (TVDS), photo courtesy of TVDS)
