Bacolod City – To meet its target of zero major crime, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is mandating daily critiques or performance evaluations for all deployed security personnel at MassKara Festival sites.

BCPO City Director PCol. Joeresty Coronica stated that it is to ensure peace and order in celebrating the festival.

“Our question is always what went well, what did not go quite well, and what went wrong, with that we will know what to maintain, what to improve, and what to change, our security measures improved because of that,” Coronica said.

The city police director explained that they have two red teams, the local and regional, who conduct daily inspections.

The initiative helps the security forces to immediately correct any security lapses among the personnel deployed for the festival, which started on October 1.

“Since our task force is an interagency task group, our main players should be well represented in the advance command post,” he added.

Coronica stated that every bad impression that the interagency gave to the image of Bacolod was presented in order to improve their performance.

With the city’s decision not to implement a gun ban or signal jamming, authorities are also relying on high police visibility, as well as enhanced border control. (Theresa Mae Dulamn via tvds)
