Bacolod City – Army chief Lt. Gen. Roy Galido lauded the 303rd Infantry Brigade and its infantry units for their relentless campaign against the New People’s Army, to bring peace and security in Negros Island.

Soldiers of the 62nd and 94th Infantry Battalions have recently engaged in two encounters in Binalbagan and Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, resulting in the recovery of three high powered firearms from slain and injured rebels.

Galido, who visited the 303rd Infantry Brigade headquarters over-the-weekend in Brgy. Minoyan, Murcia, also provided guidance on military discipline, as he also emphasized the importance of commitment in the service and equipping them with knowledge and skills that they can use while still in the service.

The Philippine Army said it has already weakened the Central Negros 1 and 2 and Southwest Front guerilla fronts of the New People’s Army in Negros Island, citing neutralization of their members, who were either killed, surrendered, or captured in the past several months.
