739k doses of Covid vaccine given; PHL logs 8,920 new cases

A TOTAL of 738,913 doses were administered as of March 30, 2021, in 2,596 vaccination sites across the country, the Department of Health (DOH) said on Thursday.

Of the number of persons vaccinated, 737,569 (68 percent) people had received one dose, while 1,344 (0.1 percent) people were fully vaccinated.

The DOH also said that with the recent arrival of 1 million doses of CoronaVac procured vaccines, the total number of available doses has doubled and that doses distributed throughout the country have significantly increased, with a total of 1,468,200 doses delivered.

“Additionally, vaccination for senior citizens and persons with comorbidities has begun, allowing us to afford protection to more vulnerable Filipinos,” the DOH said.

It added that the recent arrival of additional doses in the country is also expected to allow the government to expand vaccination to more priority groups, thereby protecting more people.

8,920 new cases

As of 4 p.m. of April 1, the DOH logged a total of 8,920 additional cases.

The total number of cases in the country stood at 756,199.

Of the total number of cases, 18.4 percent (138,948) are active cases, 79.9 percent (603,948) have recovered, and 1.76 percent (13,303) have died.

Seven laboratories were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System on March 31, 2021.
