53IB Ensures Security For Covid-19 Vaccines Transportation In Zamboanga del Sur

Zamboanga del Sur – The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) conducted convoy security for Covid-19 Vaccine transportation from the Department of Health (DOH) office in Ipil, Zamboanga del Sur to Pagadian City on May 19, 2021.

4,040 vials of Covid-19 vaccines were successfully delivered to the Pagadian City Health Office and 4,148 vaccines to Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center.

53IB Charlie Company Commander 1Lt. Alvin Ibarra led the team of Matapat Troopers for security together with 2PMFC ZDS OIC led by P/Lt Jess Rick Mendoza, and DOH IX team headed by Bensor Lucero.

This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
