53IB Celebrates Iftar Offering In Waling-Waling, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur

Zamboanga del Sur – The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion held a feeding program in joining the Iftar Offering in Purok Waling-waling, Brgy Poblacion, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur on May 2, 2021, as part of celebrating the Holy Month of Ramadhan in the province.

Iftar is one of the religious observances of Ramadhan with a community Maghrib evening prayer and meal to break the whole day fasting at sunset. Ramadhan, which started on April 13, is annually observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting prayer, reflection, and service to the community. It commemorates the first spiritual revelation of Prophet Muhammad, one of the Five Pillars of Islam.
