Road crash accident occurred at the boundary between Purok 4, Paradise, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur and Purok 5, Esperanza, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga Del Sur at 4:40 PM of September 24, 2020 involving vehicle 1- Kawasaki BC 175 motorcycle tricycle bearing plate no. 090110, driven by Reny Umeres Nacis, 41 years old, male, married, fish vendor, of Purok Makugihon, Brgy. Anonang, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur. vehicle 2 – Nissan prime mover truck bearing plate no. JAC2012, driven by Joel A. Suerte, 49 years old, male, married, of Brgy. Kapalaran, Tangub City with truck man identified as Dennis T. Bentosa, 36 years old, male, married, and vehicle 3 – Mitsubishi Fuso 10 wheeler truck bearing plate no. MVZ 266, driven by Reynaldo Taroran Hijara, 31 year old, male, married, a resident of Old Kidapawan, Roxas, Kidapawan City, with truck man Kenny Jay Laguardia Ferolin, 24 years old, male, single, and Danilo Tiodon Tangub Jr., 24 years old, male, single, both residents of Pikit, North Cotabato.
Initial investigation disclosed that the vehicle 3 (Mitsubishi Fuso 10-wheeler truck) fully loaded with garlic was traversing from Cagayan De Oro City bound for Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur and upon reaching at Purok 4, Brgy. Paradise, Ramon Magsaysay accidentally sideswiped vehicle 1 (Kawasaki BC 175 tricycle) that was carrying a box containing fish products. While on the process, around more or less 230 meters away from the first contact, in the vicinity of Purok 5, Brgy. Esperanza, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga Del Sur, vehicle 3 (Mitsubishi Fuso) then hit the rear portion another vehicle 2 (Nissan prime mover truck) that was carrying an empty container van.
As a result, vehicle 1 and 3 turned upside down while vehicle 2 pinned at the roadside while one of the container vans fell to the cliff.
Unfortunately, five of the above-named persons died on the spot while the driver of MV no. 2 Nissan prime mover truck, Joel A. Suerte, sustained a severe injury and was immediately brought to Blancia Hospital, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur for medication.
The five cadavers were brought at Paradise Funeral Homes, Purok 2, Brgy. Paradise, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga Del Sur while the three vehicles involved were temporarily guarded by PNP personnel of Ramon Magsaysay Municipal Police Station with the assistance of the Barangay Officials Of Brgy.
