46.9% Eligible Population For COVID 19 Vaccine Now Vaccinated In Zamboanga City

Zamboanga City now reached 46.9 percent of its eligible population when it comes to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination as the city continue to fight the pandemic.

Dr. Dulce Amor D. Miravite, City Health Officer, said that for the first dose, 193,261 individuals were vaccinated which is 27.6 percent while second dose 135,191 or 19.3 percent.

For the medical frontliners or A1 category, 32,557 were vaccinated. For the senior citizens or A2, 61,988 were vaccinated. For A3 persons with comorbidities, 110,627, For A4 or economic frontliners 96,654, and for A5 or poor families 26,626.

Fully vaccinated means that they already got the two doses of vaccines and 14 days after their second dose.

These individuals were vaccinated in the city’s vaccination sites. Vaccines used were Astrazeneca, Sinovac, Jansen, Sputnik V, Moderna, and Pfizer.

For the vaccines, Miravite said they received 182,284 vials of Sinovac, 11,268 Astrazeneca, 1,500 Sputnik V, 11,113 Pfizer, 2,800 Jansen, and 230 Moderna.

The City’s vaccination program will cover 700,000 individuals to achieve herd immunity. At least 70 percent of the population should have Covid-19 vaccinations in order to have herd immunity.

Vaccination is one of the strategy of the city government to curve Covid 19 cases.

Those 18 years old and above who wanted to be vaccinated may register at their health centers or at zambocovax.com

Currently the city has 16,470 Covid cases, 13,579 recovered, 2,151 active cases, and 740 deaths as of October 4, 2021.
