At least 408 residents from Mainland and Island Barangays of Surigao City received financial aid through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).
The AICS distribution was facilitated by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Surigao del Norte, and the office of Sen. Imee Marcos.
The distribution was held last Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Brgy. Washington Gym with beneficiaries receiving cash assistance worth P3,000 each.
The AICS or Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation is one of the social welfare services of the DSWD that provides medical assistance, burial, transportation, education, food, or financial assistance for other support services or needs of a person or family.
The objective of the AICS Program is to help Filipinos who are in crisis to meet their needs.
