As per the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), there are a total of 4 missing persons, one (1) from Barangay Putik, another one (1) from Barangay Cabatangan and two (2) from Barangay Tumaga.
Reportedly, over 3,000 families were greatly affected by the flash flood last night, October 28, 2022, that has been caused by Typhoon Paeng. Some rushed in the nearest evacuation center in their respective communities; others have been forced to seek shelter in hotels.
Based on the article that has been posted in the City of Zamboanga Facebook Page, the tentative number of affected families per barangay are as follows:
1. San Roque – 100 Families
2. Santa Maria – 269 Families
3. San Jose Gusu – 500+ Families
4. Tulungatung – 205 Families
5. Tumaga – 520+ Families
6. Ayala – 1,050 Families
7. Maasin – 180 Families
8. Tictabon – 7 Families
9. Tugbungan –
10. Pamucutan –
11. Manicahan –
12. Talisayan – 395 Families
13. Sangali – 19 Families
14. Bolong –
15. Rio Hondo – 54 Families
16. Malagutay – 100 Families
17. Pasonanca – 250 Families
18. Boalan – 80 Families
19. Guiwan – 150 Families
20. Tetuan – 298 Families

The agencies concerned are continuously assessing all the affected barangays and are are conducting relief operations.
Early evening of the aforementioned date, Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative (ZAMCELCO) conducted an emergency switch-off on several Feeders such as Mercedes, Pasonanca, San Roque, Arena Blanco, Northside, Tumaga and Tetuan. For safety purposes, ZAMCELCO eventually did the same towards other Feeders. Electricity has been restored in the areas where the flood waters have subsided.
Houses and bridges were also destroyed, landslides have also been reported and trees uprooted from the ground. This unfortunate event also took lives that are yet to be accounted.
