259 Negros Occ cops promoted

A total of 268 policemen in Negros Occidental were recently promoted to higher ranks.

Of the total number, 197 were personnel of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) while the others were members of various law enforcement units in the province.

Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, Deputy Public Information Officer of NOCPPO, said that those promoted were the following: two executive master sergeants, 16 chief master sergeants, 67 senior master sergeants, 58 master sergeants, 50 staff sergeants, and 66 corporals. All of them were non-commissioned officers, she added.

However, one of them was from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), three from the Highway Patrol Group, two from the Directorates for Integrated Police Operations (DIPO), and 65 from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-6.

For commissioned officers, Donasco said that nine NOCPPO personnel were also promoted to higher ranks.

A policeman with a rank of executive master sergeant was promoted to lieutenant, another was also promoted from lieutenant to captain, and seven others were promoted from captain to major.

They were part of the 1,439 police commissioned and non-commissioned personnel who were promoted all over Western Visayas recently. (Glazyl Masculino via tdg, photo by tdg)
