21.9-M Worth Of Marijuana Destroyed In Kalinga

Combined operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Cordillera have destroyed around ₱ 21.9 million worth of marijuana plants in Tinglayan, Kalinga.

According to the Kalinga Police Provincial Office, a total of 96,500 fully grown marijuana plants and 65,000 seedlings were destroyed by authorities in Barangay Buscalan, Loccong, and Butbut Proper in a three-day operation that started in June 14 to June 16.

The three-day operation led to the discovery of 11 marijuana plantation sites.




In Barangay Butbut Proper, operatives eradicated a total of 57,500 fully grown marijuana plants and 65,000 seedlings discovered in six different plantation sites

Four plantings sites planted with 34,000.00 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants worth ₱ 6, 800,000.00 were discovered in Barangay Loccong

In Barangay Buscalan, 5,000 fully-grown marijuana plants worth ₱ 1, 000,000.00 were destroyed.

Kalinga Police Provincial Office reported there are eight remaining drug affected barangays in the province and three re-affected or reverted ones.
