200-T PPEs Distributed To Gov’t Hospitals In Mindanao

Davao City:   The chief implementor of the Inter-Agency Task Force against COVID-19 in the country led the distribution of the 200,000 personal protective equipment for government hospitals in Mindanao that have COVID-19 patients.

He said places like the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, General Santos, and regions IX, X, XI, XII and XIII or the Caraga region will also receive the PPE sets intended up to the month of May.

“May paparating pa na another batch of PPEs from a navy ship.  Mabilis naman ang procurement, salamat kay Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado.  Ang mahirap lang ang maghanap ng supply dahil halos lahat ay kailangan nito.  May supplier tayo from China,” Galvez said.

He revealed that there is an ongoing procurement for another 3M PPE sets worth P20-Billion intended to be used also in government hospitals from June to August 2020.

Galvez cited the need to have a stockpile of PPE to prepare for more COVID-cases until 2021.

He also materialized the delivery of 10,000 polymerase chain reaction kits and 10,000 rapid testing (RDT) kits for Davao City.

Rapid test kits were also allocated for Davao del Norte,Davao del Sur, Davao de Oro, and Davao Oriental with 2,500 rapid test kits for each province.

Ten thousand PCR test kits were also part of the shipment and 2,500 extraction kits. (PIA XI-Joey Sem G. Dalumpines)
