2 Zambo Centenarians Gets Cash From LGU

Two centenarians from La Paz and Talisayan recently received ₱ 50,000 each as the City Government’s counterpart to the Filipino Centenarians Act or RA 10868 that grants ₱ 100k to senior citizens 100 years old and above.

In a press briefer issued by City Hall, the two recipients were Eufrocino D. Sibuyan and Vicenta M. Lledo.

Eufrocino D. Sibuyan, born on May 5, 1920 of La Paz and Vicenta M. Lledo, born on May 24, 1920 received the amount facilitated by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) last Wednesday, August 19.

The amount is intended for their personal, medical and other related needs. The program is aimed to honor and give recognition to centenarians for their wisdom and contributions to the society.

Under the administration of Mayor Beng Climaco, a number of benefit packages for senior citizens were rolled out to include the Largo Vida program or the daily delivery of maintenance medicines and the free movie screening among others.
