2 Inmates Who Bolted In Basilan Provincial Jail, Killed In Hot Pursuit Operation

Two inmates who bolted from the Basilan Provincial Jail were killed following the armed confrontation ensued between them and the pursuing operatives of Isabela City Police Station, 54th Special Action Company, 4th Special Forces Company, Philippine Army, Basilan Police Provincial Office and Basilan Provincial Jail during the joint hot pursuit operation at Brgy. Cabunbata, Isabela City, Basilan at about 1:58 PM of October 18, 2020.

Lt. Col. Homer Dumalag, Isabela City Police Chief identified the fatalities as Battuh Kusain, charged for the crime of multiple murders, and multiple frustrated murder; and Nurhassan Lahaman, charged for two counts murder.

Scene of the Crime Operation and Isabela City Police Station were able to recover the following at the crime scene : three pcs of fired cartridge of 5.56 mm, one-unit M16 rifle with serial number 002251-09- and one-unit cal. 45 pistol with serial number 311245.

Cadaver of the said escapees was properly turned over to their relatives.

Still at large and subjects of manhunt police operation are Gappal Saripada, charge with multiple murder, and frustrated murder; Hernie Asao, charge for illegal possession of explosives and firearms; Albaser Ahmad, charge for murder and frustrated murder; and Kaliji Hajirul, charge for murder.
