Davao City – On October 24, 2020; PBGEN. Filmore B. Escobal, Regional Director, PRO 11, together with PBGEN. Luisito P. Magnaye, Deputy Director, SAF/OIC, Air Unit conducted aerial inspection of the proposed location for an air station to be established in Davao region.
The PNP SAF Air Unit will deploy two (2) units of H 125 helicopters in Mindanao, which will be stationed in Davao Region. This is in line with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s instruction to deploy Air Unit assets of the PNP in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao which will assist in law enforcement operations; conduct of tactical, search and rescue, disaster relief and urgent field/staff flight operations.
In preparation for the operationalization of PNP Air Unit in Davao region, PBGEN. Escobal pledge to facilitate the usufruct agreement between the Local Government of the Island Garden of Samal, where the proposed Air Unit station be established.
PBGEN. Escobal said, “The deployment of H 125 helicopters in our region is an upliftment and advancement to police service. By having said helicopters, police operation especially those that needs urgency and speed; and those that needs aerial support could be performed faster and efficiently. Far more, airlift support would be readily available if needed.”.
