191,383 Students Enrolled In Zamboanga Public Schools

The Department of Education (DepEd) Zamboanga City Schools Division has revealed, a total of 191,383 students are now enrolled in Zamboanga City’s Public Schools and still counting from June 1 to present.

Rosalio B. Conturno, Jr., DepEd Division of Zamboanga, Chief Education Supervisor for School Governance and Operations Division told RPN DXXX Zamboanga, enrollees for kinder are 11,196, elementary are 97,073, Junior High School are 64,291, and for Senior High School are 18,823.

This is for online enrollment and other modes in the different public schools.

On the modalities of teaching, online will be used, modules, television and radio instruction, mix online and module, and the house instruction.

Currently, the office is checking on the production of the modules which will be given to the students on a weekly basis.

On the opening of classes, which is scheduled on August 24, Conturno said, there will be a kickoff and also an orientation will be given for the parents especially for those with children in the lower grade levels.

“We are asking for the support of the parents.” Conturno stressed.

For those who are not yet enrolled, enrollment is still on going till September.

He added, their enrollment is important so that the department will be informed on how many modules they will have to prepare.

DepEd Division of Zamboanga City is composed of Labuan district, Ayala, Sta Maria, Baliwasan, Central, Vitali, Curuan, Manicahan, Mercedes, Putik, Talon Talon, and Tetuan. The city have 172 public elementary schools and 41 public high schools with some 8,000 teachers. (R.G. Antonet A. Go)
