Yesterday, July 19, 2021, the 1st batch of Johnson and Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine arrived at Bancasi Airport, Butuan City.

The aforementioned vaccine, with each vial consisting of 5 doses, is a single shot vaccine that does not require a booster dose.

The latest shipment arrived via Philippine Airlines, which was received by FDA Caraga’s Regional Supervisor, Ms. Perla Alvizo, alongside Ms. Eleanor Lakag, Supply Officer-In-Charge of the DOH-CHD Caraga, and was immediately transported to the cold room facility of DOH-CHD Caraga.

The delivery of 17 boxes contained 26,000 vials, yielding a total of 130,000 doses, to be allocated to the provinces of Caraga while strictly prioritizing the remaining unvaccinated priority eligible groups A2 and A3, especially those in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas, and areas classified as high risk for COVID-19.

Furthermore, with the steady vaccine arrivals, inoculation among priority groups is expected to accelerate.
