₱485M Passenger Terminal Building To Rise Inside PPA Port Of Zambo

Zamboanga City – A new Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) will soon rise inside the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) Port of Zamboanga next year to bring more comfort for the passengers.

Arcidi S. Jumaani, PPA Zamboanga Port Manager, said the new PTB cost ₱ 485 million to rise in a 9,400 square meter area inside the local wharf.

The construction of the new building started April this year and expected to finish next year.

The new PTB can accommodate 3,000 passengers bound for Jolo, Basilan, Tawi Tawi, and Manila.

Aside from this the new building will be air-conditioned, with elevator, escalators, and prayer room.

During the construction, they will also consider local culture and layout of the new PTB.

Meanwhile, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade, said that “The Philippines is an archipelago, Zamboanga City is in the middle when you develop the airport and seaport this will mean economic growth.”
