Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad Benguet – The Benguet Provincial Police Office intensified campaign against illegal drugs from February 6 to 10, 2021 resulted in the destruction of ₱ 20.1- M worth of marijuana plants in eight plantation sites and two drug personalities were arrested.
In the municipality of Bakun, police operatives uprooted more or less 91,500 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with a total estimated Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of ₱ 18,300, 000.00.
In Kibungan, more or less 7,070 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants, 1,050 pieces of marijuana seedlings and three kilos of dried marijuana stalks with a total estimated DDB value of ₱ 1,816,000.00 were destroyed.
All marijuana plants were burned on-site and only samples were taken by the operatives for evidentiary purposes.
Aside from marijuana eradication, Benguet PPO has conducted series of buy-bust operations that resulted in the arrest of two drug personalities in Benguet.
