₱132-M Of Illegal Drugs Seized, 31 Arrested In Cordillera

No one can hamper the Cordillera law enforcers in the implementation of the full force of the law against contrabands and lawless elements in the region even with the threat of the dreaded Coronavirus-19.

In a series of operation conducted region wide for the month of March, Operatives seized over 132 million worth of illegal drugs; arrested 31 individuals, and filed 17 cases in court. Of the Php132, 962,787.39 worth of illegal drugs, 137.05 grams consist of shabu, 366,273 marijuana plants, and 12,160 seedlings, 9,050.00 grams of seeds, 398,358.92 grams of marijuana dried leaves, and 85,000 marijuana stalks.

Recently, a timekeeper of a Construction and Development Corporation and a resident of Casigayan, Tabuk City, Kalinga was arrested in a buy-bust operation at Dagitan St., Casigayan Centro, Tabuk City, Kalinga on March 27, 2020. Confiscated and recovered from his possession were two sachets of suspected shabu, buy-bust money and one unit white Samsung Smartphone

Another offender a carpenter and a resident of Balong, Tabuk City, Kalinga was arrested in Pantar, Laya West, Tabuk City, Kalinga on March 26, 2020. Evidence confiscated from his possession was Php1, 000.00 buy-bust money and a sachet of suspected shabu.

PROCOR Regional Director, PGen Pagkalinawan lauded the alertness of the personnel amid the COVID 19 scare and further enjoined them to continue with their mandates to intensify their anti-criminality/terrorism campaign and arrest criminal elements who will take advantage of the situation.
