Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet – Anti-narcotics agents in Cordillera destroyed ₱ 10, 630, 000.00 worth marijuana plants in a three-day operation on June 25-27 in the mountainous part of Kibungan.
Based on reports submitted to the Police Regional Office, Regional Director PBGEN Ronald Lee, combined operating personnel of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group – Special Operation Unit Cordillera (PNP DEG – SOU CAR); Kibungan MPS; PDEA Benguet; PDEU & PMFC Benguet, RMFB15, and RSOG/RID PROCOR, resulted to the discovery of ten plantation sites with 37,250 fully grown marijuana plants and 26.5 kilograms of dried leaves in a 4,150 square meter land area.
The operatives discovered four plantation sites with 25,000 Fully Grown Marijuana Plants at Sitio Dalipey, Barangay Tacadang.
In Sitio Naptong of barangay Badeo, 2,250 marijuana plants and dried leaves worth of ₱ 3,180,000.00 were discovered in six different plantation sites.
Police Cordillera launched relentless campaign against marijuana to totally free the region from the prohibited plant.
All discovered marijuana plants were destroyed on-site while operatives are conducting intensive inquiries to identify the cultivators. (Joseph Manzano, RPN DZBS Baguio OIC | PROCOR-PIO)
