The two employees in the provincial government of Negros Occidental who were reportedly found positive for illegal drugs use were not sanctioned or suspended, but required to undergo rehabilitation.

In a radio interview with the acting provincial administrator, the concerned employees have assured Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. and Human Resource Officer Atty. Anabel Palic that they will abide with the recommendation of the accredited physician of the Department of Health for their rehabilitation.

On the other hand, the Governor has reportedly assured that no sanction will be imposed upon them, but will follow the rehabilitation recommendation for six months.

Since this will entail expenses and their salaries might not be enough, this will be supported by their bonuses because they are also allowed to avail of it, to cope with rehabilitation expenses. (Edith Colmo /NDB)
