PNP personnel of Dumingag Municipal Police Station (MPS) together with personnel’s from Dumingag MDRRMC conducted checkpoint particularly at the QCP, Purok Talisay 2, Brgy. Lower Landing, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur at 5:00 PM of January 3, 2021.
During the conduct of checkpoint, one white Toyota Fortuner, bearing plate number LAF 8455, driven by Romer Maloloy-On Beron, 42 years old, married and a resident of Poblacion, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay hurdled the checkpoint prompting the PNP personnel to conduct pursuit operation against said vehicle.
Upon reaching at Rizal Street, Brgy. San Pedro, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur, the said vehicle was outran and therein the driver voluntarily opened the window of the vehicle. The team vividly saw several boxes of smuggled cigarettes loaded inside the said vehicle.
Confiscated items from the vehicle were 10 boxes of ASTRO cigarettes with estimated market value of ₱ 75,000.00.
Subject person together with his driven vehicle and the confiscated boxes of smuggled cigarettes are now under the custody of Dumingag MPS for proper disposition.
